She is also magnesium deficient. Studies show that consuming caffeine could deplete your body's supply of calcium and magnesium because of coffee diuretic property, most of these 2 minerals are lost through urine. Since Karen has been supplementing herself with lots of calcium, she missed replenishing the magnesium in her body too. Reports showed that magnesium deficiency causes insomnia, muscle weakness, fatigue, irritability, and headache.
