A darker object absorbs the most light, and when an object absorbs most of the light within the visible spectrum an object is seen as the color black.

Perfect absorbers of light are called black body radiators, where all of the visible spectrum is absorbed and the object is perceived as extremely dark.

What percentage of the intensity gets through both polarizers?
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

if the two polarizers have the same direction the transmitted light is 50% of the incident and if the two polarizers are at 90º the transmitted light is zero

Explanation:

The incident light is generally random, that is, it does not have a polarization plane, when the first polarized stops by half, this already polarized light arrives at the second polarizer and the causticity passes

                I = I₀ cos² θ

therefore if the two polarizers have the same direction the transmitted light is 50% of the incident and if the two polarizers are at 90º the transmitted light is zero

Approximately how much heat energy does it take to raise 1 kg of water by 1 k?
Sidana [21]

Answer:

4186 Joules

Explanation:

The specific heat capacity of a substance is defined as the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of 1 kg of the substance by 1 Kelvin. In formula,

C_s = \frac{Q}{m \Delta T}

where

Q is the amiunt of heat needed

m = 1 kg is the mass

\Delta T = 1 K

is the variation of temperature of the substance

For water, the specific heat capacity is 4186 J/(kg K). This means that the heat energy required to raise 1 kg of water by 1 K is exactly 4186 J.

Which items would have this energy transformation: chemical energy -> mechanical energy?
dsp73
