Answer:

v2 = 65 m/s

the speed of the water leaving the nozzle is 65 m/s

Explanation:

Given;

Water flows at 0.65 m/s through a 3.0 cm diameter hose that terminates in a 0.3 cm diameter nozzle

Initial speed v1 = 0.65 m/s

diameter d1 = 3.0 cm

diameter (nozzle) d2 = 0.3 cm

The volumetric flow rates in both the hose and the nozzle are the same.

V1 = V2 ........1

Volumetric flow rate V = cross sectional area × speed of flow

V = Av

Area = (πd^2)/4

V = v(πd^2)/4 ....2

Substituting equation 2 to 1;

v1(πd1^2)/4 = v2(πd2^2)/4

v1d1^2 = v2d2^2

v2 = (v1d1^2)/d2^2

Substituting the given values;

v2 = (0.65 × 3^2)/0.3^2

v2 = 65 m/s

the speed of the water leaving the nozzle is 65 m/s

It takes 3 s for a rock to hit the ground when it is thrown straight up from a cliff with an initial velocity of 8.63 m/s. How l
denis23 [38]

Answer:

Explanation:

h = height of the cliff

Consider upward direction as positive and downward direction as negative

Consider the motion of rock thrown straight up :

Y = vertical displacement = - h

v₀ = initial velocity = 8.63 m/s

a = acceleration = - 9.8 m/s²

t = time taken to hit the ground = 3 s

Using the equation

Y = v₀ t + (0.5) a t²

- h = (8.63) (3) + (0.5) (- 9.8) (3)²

h = 18.21 m

Consider the motion of rock thrown down :

Y' = vertical displacement = - 18.21

v'₀ = initial velocity = - 8.63 m/s

a' = acceleration = - 9.8 m/s²

t' = time taken to hit the ground = ?

Using the equation

Y' = v'₀ t' + (0.5) a' t'²

- 18.21 = (- 8.63) t' + (0.5) (- 9.8) t'²

t' = 1.2 s

An object experiences an acceleration of 9.8 m/s over a distance of 210 m . After that acceleration it has a velocity of 380 m/s
V125BC [204]

374.5m/s

Explanation:

acceleration, a = 9.8m/s²

distance, s = 210m

final velocity, v = 380m/s

unknown:

Initial velocity, u = ?

Solution:

We need to apply one of the equations of motion to solve this problem. The most fitting one is:

   V² = U² + 2as

   U is the unknown:

        U² = V² - 2as

        U² = 380² - 2x 9.8 x 210

        U² =  144,400‬ - 4,116‬ = 140284‬

        U = √140284‬ = 374.5m/s

Identfy the parts of he atom that are labeied in the
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer :

Label A - nucleus.

Label B- electron cloud.

Explanation :

An atom is the smallest unit of a matter that consist of three subatomic particles which are electrons, protons and neutrons.

The protons and the neutrons are located inside the nucleus or the center of the nucleus where the mass of the an atom is concentrated.

The electrons are located around the nucleus.

The protons are positively charged, the electrons are negatively charged and the neutrons are neutral that means it has no charge.

In the picture, label A shows the nucleus.

Electrons has the ability to revolve around the nucleus in a fixed circular orbit. Electron cloud represents the spreading of the electrons energy.

In the picture, label B shows the electron cloud.

Hence, the label A - nucleus and label B- electron cloud.
