Why do you think water is so important to living things

Biology
2 answers:
Harrizon [31]3 years ago

Because living organisms need water to survive. All oxygen-dependent organisms need water to aid in the respiration process. Some organisms, such as fish, can only breathe in water. Other organisms require water to break down food molecules or generate energy during the respiration process. I hope this helps <3

How do enzymes act as catalysts? (Choose ALL that apply) They allow for fewer collisions of molecules (enzymes + substrates) The
vazorg [7]

Answer:

- They allow for more collisions of molecules (enzymes + substrates)

- They lower the amount of activation energy needed to complete the reaction.

- They speed up chemical reactions to form more products

Explanation:

Enzymes are proteinous molecules that serves as catalyst in living systems. Like every other catalyst, enzymes function to SPEED UP the rate of biochemical reactions by LOWERING/REDUCING the activation energy, which is the energy required for a reactant to form product (completion of reaction).

Enzymes like other catalysts causes faster movement of molecules in the reaction i.e. they allow for more collisions of molecules (enzymes + substrates). This causes the rate of reaction to increase and hence, speeden the reaction.

One problem with wind energy as a major source of electricity is _____. A. it is nonrenewable B. it causes major air pollution C
irina [24]

The correct option is D.

Wind has some advantages which makes it suitable as a source of energy but it also possesses some disadvantages which reduces its potentials as a viable source of energy. For instance, large expanse of land will be needed to construct wind farms and this may not be feasible especially in populated areas. Another disadvantage is that electricity production will be depended on the availability of wind, when there is no wind, there will be no electricity.

Flagellum is what the prokaryotic cell has that is whip-like in structure. It helps with the motility of the cell.

Pilus is a hair-like structure that are found on the surface of prokaryotic cells. They help the cell attach itself to surfaces.

Peritrichous flagella are several flagella that can be found all over some prokaryotic cells.
