Answer:

(A)

Step-by-step explanation:

I good way to solve this is to test out each answer. We can do this by setting it equal to the expression given in the question.

Let start with (A). If x + 2y + x + 2 is equivalent to (A) then we can say

x + 2y + x + 2 = 2(x+y+1)

And we can combine the two x's on the left side to make.

2x + 2y + 2 = 2(x+y +1)

Now by expanding the right side we get

2x + 2y + 2 = 2x + 2y + 2

which is the same thing so there are both equal!

Now lets test (B). We start off by doing the same thing as (A) except with the equation for (B)

2x + 2y + 2 = 2x + 4y + 4

Now this doesn't look quite right, on the left side we have two y's but on the right we have four. This means our equation is unbalanced which means they are unequal! So it can't be (B)

So the only correct answer is (A)!

Hope this helps!

Latrell took one of his friends out to lunch. The lunches cost $60 and he paid 5% sales tax. If Latrell left a 15% tip on the $6
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

$72

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of the lunch = $60

Sales tax = 5% of $60

= 5/100 × 60

= 0.05 × 60

= $3

Tip = 15% of $60

= 15/100 × 60

= 0.15 × 60

= $9

how much in total did he pay?

Total amount paid = cost of the lunch + sales tax + tip

= $60 + $3 + $9

= $72

Latrell paid $72 in total for the lunch

Two angels re supplementary. The larger angle is 48 degrees more than the 10 times the smaller angle. Find the measure of each a
evablogger [386]
Supplementary angles are two angles that add up to 180°.

STEP 1:
find the value of x

x= smaller angle
10x + 48= larger angle

Add the two angles above to equal 180.

x + (10x + 48)= 180
combine like terms

11x + 48= 180
subtract 48 from both sides

11x= 132
divide both sides by 11

x= 12° smaller angle

STEP 2:
find the value of the second angle

=10x + 48
=10(12) + 48
=120 + 48
=168° larger angle

CHECK:
12° + 168°= 180°
180°= 180°

ANSWER: The smaller angle is 12° and the larger angle is 168°.

Hope this helps! :)
