A linear equation in the form y = mx + c has slope m Any line parallel to 3x + 9y = 5 has the same slope 3x + 9y = 5 → 9y = -3x + 5 → y = (-3/9)x + 5/9 → y = -⅓x + 5/9 & So it’s 10 and 0

Suppose spin a spinner with eight equal sectors, numbered 1 to 8. What is the probability of spinning a 3 or an 8?
olasank [31]

Given, in the spinner 8 equal sectors, numbered 1 to 8.

So total numbers = 8.

Let, the probability of spinning a 3 is P(Three) and spinning an 8 is P(Eight).

Now we know that, probability of an event E is

P(E) = (number of outcomes in the event)/ (total number of possible outcomes).

So here number of outcomes for spinning a 3 is 1 and we have got total outcomes = 8.

So P(Three) = \frac{1}{8}

Similarly, P(Eight) = \frac{1}{8}

Probability of spinning a 3 or an 8 = P(Three) + P(Eight)

= \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{8}

As the denominator is same we can add the numerator.

= \frac{(1+1)}{8}

= \frac{2}{8}

Now we have to simplify the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by a common factor of them.

The common factor of 2 and 8 is 2. So by dividing them we will get,

= \frac{1}{4}

We have got the required answer.

The probability of spinning a 3 or an 8 is \frac{1}{4}

Simplify the expression below.
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

D. 10^10

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiplying numbers with exponents rule : a^b*a^c=a^b^+^c

explanation of rule : we simply keep the bases the same and add the exponents.

10^3 • 10^7

keep the base as 10 and add the exponents

10^3 * 10^7 =10^3^+^7=10^1^0

Keep in mind that this only works when the bases are the same.

Find the radius of a circle is the circumference is 50.24cm. (Hint: Use C=2 x pi x radius to work backwards. Use the following s
g100num [7]

Answer:

r = 8 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Circumference of circle = 50.24 cm

                         2πr         = 50.24

                    2 * 3.14 * r   = 50.24

                                   r = \frac{50.24}{2*3.14}=\frac{5024}{2*314}\\\\\\\\

                                  r = 8 cm
