The debate showed different but equally relevant opinions that allowed the amendments to include rights that guaranteed the well-being of the population and the protection of individuals from abuse by their leaders.

Explanation:

Jefferson and Madisson had different opinions about the rights that should be incorporated in the 10 amendments established, however, the opinions of the two were extremely relevant and allowed the adoption of essential rights for citizens.

Jefferson, defended that the Declaration of Rights should be established with the objective of protecting the civil liberties of citizens and avoiding abuses of power by the government. This has influenced amendments that protect freedom of expression, protection and property rights and legal rights.

Madison, however, believed that it was more important, that the Bill of Rights should not establish the protection of specific rights, because that would take away the protection of other rights that were equally important to the well-being of society. This influenced the creation of the last two amendments (ninth and tenth) that were established to protect the rights not listed in the constitution, but important and relevant to the nation.
