Answer:

34 cm and 12 cm

Explanation:

Wavelength: This can be defined as the distance in meter required to complete one circle.

The formula for the wavelength of a wave is given as,

λ = v/f..................... Equation 1

Where λ = wavelength, v = velocity of a microwave, f = frequency.

For The first micro wave,

λ = v/f

Given: f =  890 MHz = 890000000 Hz = 8.9×10⁸ Hz

Constant: Note: All electromagnetic wave moves with same speed v = 3×10⁸ m/s.

Substitute into equation 1

λ  = 3×10⁸/8.9×10⁸

λ = 0.34 m.

λ = 34 cm

For the second micro wave,

λ = v/f..................... Equation 1

given: f = 2500×10⁶ Hz = 2.5×10⁹ Hz, v = 3×10⁸ m/s.

Also substitute into equation 1

λ = 3×10⁸ /(2.5×10⁹)

λ  = 1.2×10⁻¹ m

λ  = 12 cm.

Which in is it Speed (S) or Velocity (V)?
Andrej [43]

Explanation:

Speed has only magnitude.

Velocity has magnitude and direction.

"A bike goes 25 m/s toward  main street."

This includes a direction, so it is velocity (V).

"A person walks 4 mph."

This has only magnitude, so it is speed (S).

"A plane flies 200 m/s."

This has only magnitude, so it is speed (S).

"A bird flies 100 mph due south."

This includes a direction, so it is velocity (V).

A car sitting at a red light begins to accelerate at 2.0 m/s2 when the light turns green. It continues with this acceleration un
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

d = 820 m

Explanation:

here we know that car starts from rest and continue to accelerate till it will reach to maximum speed of 20 m/s

so we will have

v_f - v_i = at

20 - 0 = 2t

t = 10 s

so car will accelerate till t = 10 then it will move with uniform speed

so the distance moved by the car till it accelerates is given as

d = \frac{1}{2}at^2

d = \frac{1}{2}(2)(10^2)

d_1 = 100 m

now it will move with uniform speed for next 36 s

so we have

d_2 = 20(36) = 720 m

so total distance moved by the car is given as

d = d_1 + d_2

d = 100 + 720

d = 820 m
