Eye ball are made up of tissues and contains a lot fluid which gives the eye ball its shape. When the body is burned, the eyeball tissues melt and the fluid dries up and the tissues die. The eyeball tissue cannot take the heat of the fire and it collapses by melting due to the immense heat.

Thus, the eyeball does not explode when burned alive, it simply melts.
