According to the psychologist, Jean Piaget, this <span>restoring of cognitive balance is called assimilation.

Assimilation involves the cognitive process of taking in or absorbing information, and combining or 'assimilating' it with our existing knowledge and ideas. In this instance, Drew has combined new information "birds are pets" to his existing ideas and knowledge about what pets are and the categories of animals "pets" can include.

According to Freud, the dreams of adults can be traced back to Group of answer choices unconscious erotic wishes. stressful life
Fofino [41]

Answer:

The answer is unconscious erotic wishes.

Explanation:

Freud stated that all dreams are motivated because of wishes. As an example, children's dreams, as well as adults' dreams related to food or drink, are considered wishes' expressions that come from organic needs. Freud considered that comfort dreams, as well as sexual dreams, were also related to wishes.

However, most of the adults' dreams and some children's dreams are considered disguised expressions concerning some things that were  repressed and in this way, wishes were unconscious. For example, parents usually do not allow children to handle knives. Thus, children repress their desires and they express them through dreams because desires became unconscious.
