Answer:

The nonlinear system of equations has zero solutions.

Step-by-step explanation:

A system of nonlinear equations is a system of two or more equations in two or more variables containing at least one equation that is not linear.

In this case, we have a parabola (the red figure) and a line (the blue figure).

There are three possible types of solutions for a system of nonlinear equations involving a parabola and a line.

  1. No solution. The line will never intersect the parabola.
  2. One solution. The line is tangent to the parabola and intersects the parabola at exactly one point.
  3. Two solutions. The line crosses on the inside of the parabola and intersects the parabola at two points.

Because the line will never intersect the parabola the system has no solution.

B. zero

cuz the graphs are not intersecting anywhere. in order for their to be a solution. the graphs must intersect

A tear in an aircraft hull has a length of 2.3 times 10^-4 inch. The tear becomes 100 times longer. What is the new length of th
Valentin [98]

Answer:

The new length of the tear is 2.3 * 10^-2 inch

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we are concerned with knowing the new length of the tear.

Originally, the length of the tear is 2.3 * 10^-4 inch.

But this tear became 100 times longer. The new length of the tear will be the old length * 100

Mathematically, that would be 2.3 * 10^-4 inch * 100

= 2.3 * 10^-4 * 10^2

= 2.3 * 10^(-4 + 2)

= 2.3 * 10^-2 inch

Calculus help! Using the mean value theorem!
marta [7]
f is differentiable across its domain, so the MVT says there is some value of c in the open interval (a,b) such that

f'(c)=\dfrac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}

You have

f(x)=Ax^2+Bx+C\implies f'(x)=2Ax+B

so the equation above becomes

2Ac+B=\dfrac{(Ab^2+Bb+C)-(Aa^2+Ba+C)}{b-a}

Solve for c.

2Ac+B=\dfrac{A(b^2-a^2)+B(b-a)}{b-a}
2Ac+B=A(b+a)+B
2Ac=A(b+a)
c=\dfrac{b+a}2

so c is indeed the average of the endpoints, i.e. the midpoint.

8th grade math!!<br> please helppp
pogonyaev

Noticed how it forms a supplementary angle.

A supplmentary angle is basically two angles that added up to 180 degrees.

So we have:

64 + x = 180

Then we solve for "x", so "x" = 116.

Hope that makes sense :)
