The first step to be taken when trying to memorize a poem is to read the poem aloud.

By reading a poem aloud constantly, the individual discovers what the poem is about, the sound of the words, and find the meanings of the words not understood and also find out the rhyming of the words. By reading aloud constantly, the individual is able to memorize the poem.

Therefore, in order to memorize 'sonnet 18" by Shakespeare, The first step to take is for one to always read the poem aloud and be relentless as well as patient. One can also write out the poem or decide to act the lines by engaging all the senses.
