Answer:  X = 11/5

Step-by-step explanation: Put it in standard form first!!

simplify        -2 + 4x = 9 - x

regroup items    4x - 2 = 9 - x

Add two on both sides   4x = 9 - x + 2

simplify 9 - x + 2 to 11 - x

4x = 11 - x

Add x to both sides     4x + x = 11

Simplify 4x + x to 5x

5x = 11

divide both sides by 5

x = 11/5

On a math test a student, Sarah, has to identify all the coefficients and constants of the expression 9 b + 4 + y. Sarah says
mamaluj [8]

Step-by-step explanation:

4 + n + 7m

constants are just the numbers with no variables (letters)

so the constant is 4

coefficients are numbers multiplied by variables (letters)

so the coefficients are : 7 and 1

the error sarah made is forgetting the coefficient of n......because even if it is not written, n is the same as 1n....so basically, there is a coefficient for EVERY variable, even if its not written.
