You first multiply the denominator with the whole number for both fraction.
then add the nominator to what you got and put it in fraction form by getting your sum and put find the normal denominator as the the new fraction
then you can cross simplify and then multiply or just multiply and then simply
by doing simplifying fist you get the same multiple and divide

1.) Change the mixed numbers into an improper fraction.
-4 2/3 changes into -14/3
7 1/2 changes into 15/2.

2.) Now you have -14/3•15/2.

3.) Look and see if you can cross cancel. This case you can. -14 changes to -7 and 2 changes to 1. 15 changes to 5 and 3 changes to -1

4.) Now have -7/1 x 5/1.

5.) Multiply the numerators. -7 x 5 is -35.

6.) Your answer -35.

We can solve this question easiest by putting it as 2 equations.

First, well put the original equation, 2c+5b=55,000. B stands for the cost of backyard pool weddings and c stands for the cost of carribean weddings.

We got this equation because the question states that there were 2 carribean weddings and 5 pool weddings, and the amount of money obtained was $55,000 total as a result.

Now, we’ll put the extra information into an equation, c-10,000=b. We got this equation because it clearly states that backyard pool weddings cost 10,000 less than Caribbean, so c-10,000=b.
Now, we have to solve. Since the first equation has 2 variables, it is unsolvable. This is where the second equation comes in. We can rewrite c-10,000=b as b+10,000=c.

Now, since b+10,000=c, substitute b+10,000 for c in the first equation.
The result is 2(b+10,000)+5b=55,000.
Now that we only have one variable in the equation, it is solvable.
20,000+7b=55,000
7b=55,000
B=7,857
Now to solve for c, insert 7,857 for b in the second equation.
7,857+10,000=c
17,857=c
The cost of carribean weddings was $17,857.
The cost of a backyard pool wedding was $7,857.
Hope this helps!

Find a formula for dy/dx if sin x + cos y + sec(xy) = 251
Lena [83]

Answer:

\displaystyle \frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{-cos(x) - ysec(xy)tan(xy)}{-sin(y) + xsec(xy)tan(xy)}

Derivative of a constant is 0

Derivative Rule [Chain Rule]:                                                                                       \displaystyle \frac{d}{dx}[f(g(x))] =f'(g(x)) \cdot g'(x)

Implicit Differentiation

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

<em>Identify</em>

sin(x) + cos(y) + sec(xy) = 251

<u>Step 2: Differentiate</u>

  1. [Implicit Differentiation] Trig Differentiation [Chain Rule]:                             \displaystyle cos(x) - sin(y)\frac{dy}{dx} + sec(xy)tan(xy) \cdot (y + x\frac{dy}{dx}) = 0
  2. [Subtraction Property of Equality] Isolate  \displaystyle \frac{dy}{dx}  terms:                                     \displaystyle -sin(y)\frac{dy}{dx} + sec(xy)tan(xy) \cdot (y + x\frac{dy}{dx}) = -cos(x)
  3. [Distributive Property] Distribute sec(xy)tan(xy):                                            \displaystyle -sin(y)\frac{dy}{dx} + ysec(xy)tan(xy) + xsec(xy)tan(xy)\frac{dy}{dx} = -cos(x)
  4. [Subtraction Property of Equality] Isolate  \displaystyle \frac{dy}{dx}  terms:                                     \displaystyle -sin(y)\frac{dy}{dx} + xsec(xy)tan(xy)\frac{dy}{dx} = -cos(x) - ysec(xy)tan(xy)
  5. Factor out  \displaystyle \frac{dy}{dx}:                                                                                                   \displaystyle \frac{dy}{dx}[-sin(y) + xsec(xy)tan(xy)] = -cos(x) - ysec(xy)tan(xy)
  6. [Division Property of Equality] Isolate  \displaystyle \frac{dy}{dx}:                                                      \displaystyle \frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{-cos(x) - ysec(xy)tan(xy)}{-sin(y) + xsec(xy)tan(xy)}
