Hi,

Recombinant DNA technology is the process in which a target gene  of interest is replicated by inserting it into a vector and creating a recombinant DNA. This recombinant DNA is then returned into an expression system where it is replicated several times to give rise to multiple copies of our desired gene or that gene product.

One of the very important role for the execution of this technology is performed by Restriction endonuclease enzymes. These are the enzymes that have ability to cut the DNA fragment at specific sequence into fragments of different lengths called restriction fragments.

  • They play a very important role in recombinant DNA technology:
  • They can map the location of specific restriction sites where the target sequence is identified and cleaved.
  • They cut down the DNA at specific sites called restriction sites. The host DNA in which foreign gene or target gene is inserted is also cut with the same restriction enzymes. So in the recombinant DNA technology, restriction enzymes act like a molecular scissor which identify and cut certain DNA sequences as per or requirement.
  • The target sequence can be cut from multiple places by restriction enzymes since our target sequence can be present multiple times in the DNA of organism.
  • When restriction enzymes cut the DNA, they leave sticky or blunt ends at that site in such a way that these ends are able to bind with the complementary bases of vector DNA when introduced.
  • Then another enzyme DNA ligase seals the ends of target DNA and vector DNA making a whole recombinant DNA that is ready to be cloned and progress further steps of recombinant DNA technology.

complex chemical processes such as photosynthesis occur in a controlled series of steps with the help of ?
Iteru [2.4K]

Answer:

Chlorophyll and sun light.

Explanation:

Photosynthesis:

It is the process in which in the presence of sun light and chlorophyll by using carbon dioxide and water plants produce the oxygen and glucose.

Carbon dioxide + water + energy →   glucose + oxygen

water is supplied through the roots, carbon dioxide collected through stomata and sun light is capture  by chloroplast.

Chemical equation:

6H₂O + 6CO₂ + energy  →   C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

The glucose is converted into pyruvate and produces ATP through cellular respiration and produces oxygen.

Which of the following statements is INCORRECT? Which of the following statements is INCORRECT? Mucous membranes line exits and
koban [17]

Answer:

The cutaneous membrane is made of a simple columnar epithelium

Explanation:

Cutaneous membrane is the membrane of the skin. This membrane protects the skin from the physical and chemical damage.

Cutaneous membrane is present on skin and exposed to the external environment. This membrane is made of stratified squamous epithelium and keratinized and consist of the underlying layer of dermis. Hence, the membrane is not made upof simple columnar epithelium tissue.

Thus, the correct answer is option (3).

A dominant allele masks/hides the effect of a recessive allele.
valkas [14]

Answer: True

Explanation: If you have a dominant allele it will show in the phenotype of the organism. To show a recessive allele you need a recessive pair consisting of only recessive alleles

Hope this helps

A principle of medical ethics requires healthcare workers to be beneficent. what does that mean?
stepan [7]
Beneficence is the practice of offering selfless help to others. Medical and health practitioners are called upon by ethicists to uphold a high degree of commitment to helping other, and refraining from causing harms to others as well as rescuing their patients if they are in dire need of their special skills in treatment and medicine. the practitioners are expected to adhere to acts that brings more benefit to people, their patient and society at large.

A DNA template strand contains the following sequence:
Nikitich [7]

Answer: Though the answer were not given, the complementary RNA strand is 5'UCCGAGGUC3'

Explanation: RNA is a single stranded nucleic acid produced from DNA. Four bases are usually found in DNA and they include adenine, Uracil, cytosine and guanine whereas adenine, thymine, cytosine and guanine are found in DNA. In RNA base pairing, wherever adenine is found in the DNA template strand, uracil occurs in the RNA strand, wherever thymine is found in the DNA template strand, adenine occurs in the RNA strand and anywhere cytosine occurs in the DNA template strand, guanine occurs in the RNA strand. This means that adenine pairs with uracil, cytosine pairs with guanine and thymine pairs with adenine.
