Democritus was a Greek philosopher who lived between 470 - 380 BC. He has been credited with developing the concept of the atom, an idea he got from his mentor Leucippus and adopted it. He conducted a simple experiment by taking a sea shell and breaking it in half. He then took that half and broke it in half over and over again until he was finally left with a fine powder. He then took the smallest piece of the powder and tried to break it but could not, and from this he had discovered that matter was made of indivisible building blocks, atoms.

When resistance is decreased in a circuit, current will _________.
Mars2501 [29]
The answer is A. Increase

The formula is <span>Voltage = Resistance X Current

Lets say the voltage is 10 and the resistence is 5

10 = 5 x current
Current = 2

Now, lets decrease the resistence from 5 to 2

10 = 2 x Current
Current = 5

The current increases

An airplane awaiting departure is cleared to takeoff, its accelerates down a runway at 3.20m/ s2 for 32.8s until it finally lift
stich3 [128]

The final velocity before takeoff is 104.96 m / s.

<u>Explanation:</u>

The last velocity of a given object over some time defines the final velocity. The final velocity of the object is given by the product of acceleration and time and adding this product to the initial velocity.

To calculate the final velocity,

                          V = u + at

where v represents the final velocity,

           u represents the initial velocity,

           a represents the acceleration

            t represents the time taken.

                            v = 0 + (3.20)\times( 32.8)

                            v   = 104.96 m / s.

What is the amount of charge a capacitor can store per volt of potential difference?
sladkih [1.3K]

The amount of charge a capacitor can store per volt of potential difference is called the capacitance of the capacitor.

<h3>What is the capacitance?</h3>

The capacitance has to do with the amount of charge that is stored by a capacitor. We know that a capacitor is a device that can be used to store electric charges. We have in it, two capacitors separated by a dielectric material.

Hence, the amount of charge a capacitor can store per volt of potential difference is called the capacitance of the capacitor.

A wheel moves in the xy plane in such a way that the location of its center is given by the equations xo = 12t3 and yo = R = 2,
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

the velocity of the point P located on the horizontal diameter of the wheel at t = 1.4 s  is   P =  104.04 \hat{i} -314.432 \hat{j}

Explanation:

The free-body  diagram below shows the interpretation of the question; from the diagram , the wheel that is rolling in a clockwise directio will have two velocities at point P;

  • the peripheral velocity that is directed downward (-V_y) along the y-axis
  • the linear velocity (V_x) that is directed along the x-axis

Now;

V_x = \frac{d}{dt}(12t^3+2) = 36 t^2

V_x = 36(1.7)^2\\\\V_x = 104.04\ ft/s

Also,

-V_y = R* \omega

where \omega(angular velocity) = \frac{d\theta}{dt} = \frac{d}{dt}(8t^4)

-V_y = 2*32t^3)\\\\\\-V_y = 2*32(1.7^3)\\\\-V_y = 314.432 \ ft/s

∴ the velocity of the point P located on the horizontal diameter of the wheel at t = 1.4 s  is   P =  104.04 \hat{i} -314.432 \hat{j}
