3x + 12 = 7x - 18
30 = 4x
15/2 or 7.5 or 7 1/2 = x

Step-by-step explanation:

*Whatever you do to one side of the equal sign you must do to the other!

  1. Move the (coefficients?) to one side of the equal sign

2. Get rid of the constant(Notice the negative sign beside the 18. This means you add to get to 0)

3. Separate the number from the variable by dividing because 4x= 4 times x. You must do the inverse operation to get rid of the 4. (Inverse of addition is subtraction, Inverse of subtraction is addition, Divisions multiplication and multiplications division)

Since 4 doesn't go into 30 evenly, I chose to keep it as an improper fraction. If you'd prefer mixed number: 7 2/30

Sorry if it's confusing! Hope I helped! :)

Secant RM intersects secant RN at point R. Find the length of RQ. If necessary, round to the hundredths place.
QveST [7]

Answer:

3 Units

Step-by-step explanation:

Secant RM intersects secant RN at point R.

The secants intersects the circle at points P and Q respectively as seen in the diagram.

To determine the length of RQ, we use the Theorem of Intersecting Secants.

Applying this on the diagram, we have:

RP x RN=RQ X RM

4(4+5)=RQ(RQ+9)

Let the length of RQ=x

4*9=x^2+9x\\36=x^2+9x\\x^2+9x-36=0\\x^2+12x-3x-36=0\\x(x+12)-3(x+12)=0\\(x+12)(x-3)=0\\x+12=0$ x-3=0\\x=-12 or x=3\\Since x cannot be negative$\\x=|RQ|=3

Therefore, length of RQ=3 Units

The midpoint of FG is M( -1, 3). One endpoint is F(-2,5). Find the coordinates of Endpoint G
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

mid point is basically the mean of the x coordiante and the y coordinate. that means that the x coordinate in M, whihc is -1, is the mean of the x coordinate in F and G. the x coordinate in F is -2, so that means that the x coordinate og G must be 0, because 0+(-2) / 2 = -1       so -1 is the x coordinate of G.

To find the y coordinate of G, do the exact same thing. the y coordinate of M is 3, and the y coordinate of F is 5, which means that the Y coordinate of G must be 1. so the points for G are:

(-1,1)
