\frac{y+y}{a} = b  Multiple "a" on both sides

\frac{y + y}{a} (a) = b(a)

y + y = ab

2y = ab  Divide 2 on both sides

\frac{2y}{2} =\frac{ab}{2}

y = \frac{ab}{2}

y = \frac{ab}{2}

given \frac{y+y}{a} = b, that is

\frac{2y}{a} = b ( multiply both sides by a )

2y = ab ( divide both sides by 2 )

y = \frac{ab}{2}

Marjorie is playing a new board game the rule state that when a player's piece lands on a red square the player must pay a penal
alexdok [17]

Interpreting the situation, it is found that Marjorie will have 240 left after paying her penalty.

---------------------

  • When the piece lands on the red square, the penalty is equal to <u>30 times the sum they roll on two numbers.</u>
  • Marjorie rolls 4 and 2, thus, the sum is 6.
  • The penalty is of 6 \times 30 = 180
  • She currently has 420, the penalty removes 180, thus, she will have 420 - 180 = 240 left after paying her penalty.
