Answer: Hello there!

we have the function f(x) = IxI and we want to write the formula represented by the transformation

"First, a vertical stretch with scale factor 3 is performed, then a reflection over the x-axis, then a translation left

4 units, and finally a translation up 5 units."

first, we have a vertical stretch; this means that we have

y = a*f(x) where a is a real number, in this case, the scale is 3, so we have:

y = 3*f(x) = 3IxI

now we have a reflection over the x-axis

this is equivalent to multiply our function for -1.

y = -1(3f(x)) = -3f(x) = -3IxI

Now a translation left for 4 units, this is equivalent to have the change from x to x + 4; this is

y = f(x + 4)

then our function is:

y = -3f(x+4) = -3I x + 4I

Finally a translation up by 5 units.

For this we need to add to te function a constant equal to 5.

y = f(x) + 5

in our case:

y = -3f(x + 4) + 5 = -3Ix+4I + 5

Then our function after all of these trnasformations is:

f(x) = -3Ix+4I + 5

Answer:

y = (-3f(x+4))+5

Step-by-step explanation:

Please see the picture below.

1. Apply to the function the vertical stretch with scale factor 3:

y = 3f(x)

2. Multiply the function by -1 to reflect it over the x-axis:

y = -3f(x)

3. Add up 4 units from x to translate the function 4 units to the left:

y = -3f(x+4)

4. Add up 5 units to the entire function to translate it up 5 units:

y = (-3f(x+4))+5

How do you Estimate the Product of Decimals and Whole
PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

1) 8.5

2) 60

3) 69.3

4) 6.8

5) 3.6

6) 10.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Take out the decimal of the estimated factors and multiply. Count how far to left the decimal is in the factors. In the product, put the decimal as many to the left as it was in the factors. (ex. 6.93 x 42, 6.93 rounds to 6.9, 42 rounds to 40, 69 x 40 = 2,760, move the decimal over one for correct place value,            6.9 x 40 = 276.0 <em>or </em>276)

Suppose X and Y represent two different school populations where X &gt; Y and X and Y must be greater than 0. Which of the follo
Stells [14]

Answer:(X+Y)²

X²+Y² would be greater than X²-Y² since addition gives a greater result than subtraction.

X²+Y² would be greater than 2(X+Y); this is because 2(X+Y) = 2X+2Y, which will be less than X²+Y², since X>Y.

(X+Y)² = (X+Y)(X+Y). This can be simplified using the distributive property:

X(X)+X(Y)+Y(X)+Y(Y) = X²+XY+YX+Y² = X²+2XY+Y². This is greater than X²+Y².

The center of the dilation is the origin, and the scale factor is 2.

To find the coordinates of the points under this transformation, it is enough to multiply both coordinates of the points X, Y, and Z by 2.

Take a look at the dilation of point Z. To get to Z', both the x and y coordinate of Z must be multiplied by 2.

So, the coordinates are:

X'(8, 0); Y'(6, 4); Z'(4, -4).

Let’s think about another type of scenario. What if you were told that a bracelet requires 10 beads and 10 minutes to make while
Georgia [21]

Answer:

$425

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of bracelets made and let y represent the number of necklace made.

Since the craftsman has 1000 beads to work with, hence:

10x + 20y ≤ 1000    (1)

Also, the craftsman has 1600 minutes, hence:

10x + 40y ≤ 1600   (2)

From ploting equations 1 and 2 on the geogebra online graphing, we can see that the solution to the problem is (40, 30).

Since the bracelet costs $5 and a necklace costs $7.50, hence the maximum revenue is:

Revenue = 5x + 7.5y = 5(40) + 7.5(30) = $425
