Answer:

When a Die is rolled once possible outcomes are={1,2,3,4,5,6}=6

→ Favorable Outcome , the number rolled is less than 5={1,2,3,4}=4

 Probability of number getting less than 5 will be

           =\frac{\text{Total Favorable Outcome}}{\text{Total Possible outcome}}\\\\=\frac{4}{6}\\\\=\frac{2}{3}

→ Favorable Outcome , the number rolled is even=Multiple of 2 ={2,4,6}=3

       Probability of Rolling even number is,

           =\frac{\text{Total Favorable Outcome}}{\text{Total Possible outcome}}\\\\=\frac{3}{6}\\\\=\frac{1}{2}

How do I write a recursive formula for this sequence? 2, 6, 18, 54, 162, ... I already know the common difference is x3.
dmitriy555 [2]
For the sequence 2, 6, 18, 54, ..., the explicit formula is: an = a1 ! rn"1 = 2 ! 3n"1 , and the recursive formula is: a1 = 2, an+1 = an ! 3 . In each case, successively replacing n by 1, 2, 3, ... will yield the terms of the sequence. See the examples below.
