Difference between positional and non positional number

Computers and Technology

Answer:

In positional number system,

1. each symbol represents different value depending on the position they occupy in a number.

2. In positional number system, each system has a value that relates to the number directly next to it. The total value of a positional number is the total of the resultant value of all positions.

3. Example: 12 can be 1 x 10 + 2 x 1, 10 + 2= 12

whereas in Non-Positional number

1. In non-positional number system, each symbol represents the same value regardless of its position

2. In non-positional number system each symbol represents a number with its own place value.

3. Example: Roman number system where I for 1, II for 2 etc.

hope this helps~✨

Your computer is slowing down because you’ve started a process that is taking most of the memory and CPU resources. Which of the
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

ps is the command that enables you to find the process id so that you can stop that process. In fact, ps is an abbreviation of "Process Status".

Explanation:

ps is a Unix/Linux command which is commonly used to find information on current running processes in a computer. The process id will be shown in a column named "PID". The other useful information shown by the ps command includes the amount of CPU time in minutes and second that a process has been running ("TIME").

In practice, ps is used along with another Unix command, kill, to identify a target process and stop the process. Firstly, ps command is used to identify the PID of a target process (e.g. the process that consume most of the memory and CPU resources).  It is then followed with fetching the PID to the kill command to stop the process.

Write a calculator program that keep reading operations and double numbers from user, and print the result based on the chosen o
AveGali [126]

Answer:

 #include <iostream>

using namespace std;

int main()

{

   char opt;

   double num1,num2;

   cout<<"Enter an operation(+,-,*,/), Q to quit: ";

   cin>>opt;

  while(opt != 'Q'){

      cout<<"\nEnter your first number: ";

      cin>>num1;

      cout<<"\nEnter your second number: ";

      cin>>num2;

      if(opt == '+'){

          cout<<"Result = "<<num1+num2<<endl;

      }else if(opt == '-'){

           cout<<"Result = "<<num1-num2<<endl;

      }else if(opt == '*'){

           cout<<"Result = "<<num1*num2<<endl;

      }else if(opt == '/'){

           cout<<"Result = "<<num1/num2<<endl;

      }

      cout<<"Enter an operation(+,-,*,/), Q to quit: ";

      cin>>opt;

  }

  return 0;

}

Explanation:

First, include the library iostream, it allows to use the input/output instruction.

Create the main function and declare the variables.

Then print the message on the screen using cout instruction.

cin instruction is used to store the value into the variable.

then, take a while and check the condition if the value enters by the user is 'Q' or not. if true then enter the while otherwise exit.

after that, store the number enter by the user in the variables and then take the if-else statement for matching the operation enter by the user if match true then do the match operation.

This process continues until the user enters the value 'Q'.

if the user enters the 'Q'  then condition false and exit the program.

Consider the following relation:CAR_SALE(Car#, Date_sold, Salesperson#, Commission%, Discount_amt)Assume that a car may be sold
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

The answer to this question can be given as:

Normalization:

Normalization usually includes the division of a table into two or more tables as well as defining a relation between the table. It is also used to check the quality of the database design. In the normalization, we use three-level that are 1NF, 2NF, 3NF.

First Normal Form (1NF):

In the 1NF each table contains unique data. for example employee id.

Second Normal Form (2NF):

In the 2NF form, every field in a table that is not a determiner of another field's contents must itself be a component of the table's other fields.

Third Normal Form (3NF):

In the 3NF form, no duplication of information is allowed.

Explanation:

The explanation of the question can be given as:

  • Since all attribute values are single atomic, the given relation CAR_SALE is in 1NF.
  • Salesperson# → commission% …Given  Thus, it is not completely dependent on the primary key {Car#, Salesperson#}. Hence, it is not in 2 NF.

The 2 NF decomposition:

        CAR_SALE_1(Car#, Salesperson#, Date_sold, Discount_amt)

         CAR_SALE_2(Salesperson#, Commission%)

  • The relationship in question is not in 3NF because the nature of a transitive dependence occurs
  • Discount_amt → Date_sold → (Car#, Salesperson#) . Thus, Date_sold is neither the key itself nor the Discount amt sub-set is a prime attribute.

The 3 NF decomposition :

        CAR_SALES_1A(Car#, Salesperson#, Date_sold)

        CAR_SALES_1B(Date_sold, Discount_amt)

        CAR_SALE_3(Salesperson#, Commission%)
