Two people carry a heavy electric motor by placing it on a light board 2.45 m long. One person lifts at one end with a force of
maxonik [38]

Answer:

W=1055N

Explanation:

In order to solve this problem, we must first do a drawing of the situation so we can visualize theh problem better. (See attached picture)

In this problem, we will ignore the board's weight. As we can see in the free body diagram of the board, there are only three forces acting on the system and we can say the system is in vertical equilibrium, so from this we can say that:

\sum F=0

so we can do the sum now:

F_{1}+F_{2}-W=0

when solving for the Weight W, we get:

W=F_{1}+F_{2}

and now we can substitute the given data, so we get:

W=410N+645N

W=1055N

To determine the height of a bridge above the water, a person drops a stone and measures the time it takes for it to hit the wat
myrzilka [38]

The stone will take 2.89 seconds to hit the water.

The time required by the stone to hit the water is calculated by the second equaiton of motion

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}gt^2

41=0×t+\frac{1}{2}×9.81×t²

t=2.89 seconds

George observed a difference in measurements for the same item at different altitudes due to variation in gravity.
ivann1987 [24]
I would think that it would be a spring scale based on the readings that I have done on Hooke's law. Hooke's law states that the force exerted on a spring is directly proportional to the distance it moves as a result of the force. The spring scale is used to measure the weight of objects. I hope this answered your question.
Peace out!
