An evacuated tube uses an accelerating voltage of 50 kV to accelerate electrons to hit a copper plate and produce X-rays. Non-re

Answer:

Explanation:

Accelerating voltage = 50 x 10³ V

energy created = q V where q is charge on electron and V is accelerating potential

So qV = 1/2 m v² , m is mass of electron and v is velocity

Putting values

1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ x 50 x 10³ = 1/2 x 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ x v²

v² = 175.8 x 10¹⁴

v = 13.25 x 10⁷ m /s

A balloon tied up with a wooden piece is moving upward with velocity of 15m/s. At a height of 300m above the ground, the wooden
Inessa05 [86]
Assume the wooden piece prevents the balloon from rising, is not so heavy as to cause the balloon to descend. and the 15 m/s is horizontal velocity “riding the wind,” That horizontal velocity does not affect the time the wood will take to reach the ground after release. Initial vertical velocity is zero.

s = u t + 1/2 g t^2

s is the height above ground, 300 m.

u is initial vertical velocity, zero.

t is time to reach the ground.

g is acceleration of gravity near Earth, 9.8 m/s^2.

300 m = 0 t + 1/2 (9.8 m/s^2) t^2

300 m = (4.9 m/s^2) t^2

61.22 s^2 = t^2

7.82 seconds = t

Assume you have an ice cube and also a small rock that is the same size and shape as the ice cube. Predict what would happen if
Step2247 [10]

Answer: The ice cube would float on top of the water and the rock would sink to the bottom.

Explanation: The ice cube has a smaller density than the rock which allows the ice cube to float but makes the rock sink to the bottom of the glass of water.

If you apply the same amount of force to a 0.1-kilogram baseball and a 0.05-kilogram tennis ball, which one will accelerate more
DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

The tennis ball.

Explanation:

Because the baseball is heavier, it requires more force to move it, whereas the tennis ball requires less force, so it will move more. Hope that makes sense!
