Before answering, keep in mind that parallel lines have equal slopes and perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes. Each problem has you find the slope and then use that rule.


For line F, m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}}


Let xx_{1} = 7, xx_{2} = 9, yy_{1} = 13, yy_{2} = -3


m = \frac{-3 - 13}{9-7}


m = \frac {-16}{2}


m = 8


For line E, the calculations are similar and the slope is 3/5. The perpendicular line would have m = -5/3.

There is no solutions to these linear equations. in order to find how many solutions there are, you first need to solve for the first variable in one of the equations, then substitute the result into the other equation. since both equations are almost the same and the same format, it won't have any solutions.

∵ AB and EF intersected at point G

∴ m∠EGB = m∠AGF ⇒ by the vertical angles theorem

∴ m∠EGB = m∠CHF (transitive property theorem)
