When the switch is open, the ammeter reads zero. When the switch is closed, the meter reads a number that's (battery voltage) divided by (resistance of the lamp), and the lamp glows.

Lauryn serves a volleyball with a mass of 2.1 kg. The ball leaves her hand with a speed of 30 m/s.
Naya [18.7K]

Hi! Let's see.

<h3><u>TOPIC: Kinetic Energy.</u></h3>

Explanation:

Data:

  • Mass(m) = 2.1 kilograms
  • Speed(v) = 30 m/s
  • Kinetic Energy(Ek) = ?

==================================================================

Use the kinetic energy formula:

  • \boxed{\boxed{\bold{E_{k}=\frac{m*(v)^{2}}{2}}}}

Replace by the data:

  • \boxed{E_{k}=\frac{2.1kg*(30\frac{m}{s})^{2}}{2}}}}}

We multiply speed squared:

  • \boxed{E_{k}=\frac{2.1kg*900\frac{m}{s}}{2}}}

Multiply in the numerator, without forgetting the units:

  • \boxed{E_{k}=\frac{1890J}{2}}}}

Both numerator and denominador operations are divided:

  • \boxed{\bold{E_{k}=945\ J}}

Answer: The kinetic energy is <u>945 Joules.</u>

An electric car has a battery that can hold 16 kwh of energy. if the battery is designed to operate at 340 v, how many coulombs
Zanzabum

charge needed= 169412 C

Explanation:

energy stored in the battery= 16 KWh= 16 (1000 W)(3600 s)= 5.76 x 10⁷ J

Energy stored is given by U= q V

q= charge

V= voltage= 340 V

so 5.76 x 10⁷ = q (340)

q= 169412 C

The electric field in a region of space has the components Ey = Ez = 0 and Ex = (4.00 N/C · m) x. Point A is on the y axis at y
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

   V_{b}-V_{a} = -38.72

Explanation:

Consider the axis diagram attached.

Given:

                                        Ey = Ez = 0

                                       Eₓ = - 4x N/C · m

Since electric field is in x direction, potential difference would be:

              V_{b} - V_{a} =-\int\limits^{4.40}_{0} {E_{x} } \, dx

Here we integrate between limits 0 and 4.40 which is distance between A and B along x-axis.

              V_{b} - V_{a} = -4 \left[\begin{array}{ccc}\frac{x^{2} }{2} \end{array}\right]^{4.40}_{0}

                       V_{b}-V_{a} = -4 (9.68)\\V_{b}-V_{a} = -38.72
