See attached picture and check solution below.
We are given with the following values:
A = length of transmission line = 96ft
B = length of shadow = 72 feet
C = distance of ladder to base of transmission line = 66 feet

Solve for angle created between the wire and tip of the shadow:
tan x = opposite/ adjacent
tan x = 96 feet / 72 feet
x = 53.13°

Solving for the height of the ladder:
tan x = Ladder length / (72-66)
tan 53.13° * (72-66) = ladder length
ladder length = 8 feet

The answer is letter "B" which is 8 feet.

frutty [35]

Answer:In general, any equation of the form ax + b = c, with a not equal to zero, can be solved in two steps. First add the opposite of b to both sides. Then multiply both sides by the reciprocal of a. x - 53 = 7.

Mr. Snow bought 90 grams of Christmas candy for each of his 14 grandchildren. How many total kilograms of candy did he buy?
nignag [31]

Answer:

1.26 kg.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that Mr. Snow bought 90 grams of Christmas candy for each of his 14 grandchildren. We are asked to find the amount of candy bought by Mr. Snow in kilograms.

First of all, we will find the amount of candy in grams by multiplying 90 grams by 14 as:

\text{Amount of candy bought in grams}=14\times 90

\text{Amount of candy bought in grams}=1260

We know that 1 kilogram is equal to 1000 grams. To convert 1260 grams into kg, we will divide 1260 by 1000 as:

\text{Amount of candy bought in kilograms}=\frac{1260}{1000}

\text{Amount of candy bought in kilograms}=1.26

Therefore, Mr. Snow bought 1.26 kilograms of candy.

Binomial Distributions Assitance?
iren [92.7K]

We need to find the probability of atleast one failure in 5 trails

Probability of success = 30% = 3/10

The opposite meaning of atleast one failure is all success (no failures)

Probability of (atleast one failure ) = 1- Probability ( success)

First we find probability of success

Formula for binomial distribution

nCr(p)^r (q)^{n-r}

All success so n=5, r=5, p= 3/10, q= 1-p = 7/10

Probability (success) = 5C5 ( \frac{3}{10})^{5}( \frac{7}{10})^{5-5}

= (\frac{3}{10}) ^ 5

Probability (atleat one failure) = 1 - (\frac{3}{10}) ^ 5

= 0.92224

= 92.2%
