A certain engine extracts 1300 J of heat from a hot temperature reservoir and discharges 700 J of heat to a cold temperature res

Answer:

the efficiency of the heat engine is 46%

Explanation:

As we know that the heat extracted from engine is 1300 J

also we know that the heat discharged to the reservoir is 700 J

So we will find efficiency as

\eta = 1 - \frac{Q_2}{Q_1}

\eta = 1 - \frac{700}{1300}

so we have

\eta = 0.46

the efficiency of the heat engine is 46%

3. Does the Sun's light that reaches Earth produce a true continuous rainbow? If not, what colors
dangina [55]

Answer:

when there is no water in the atmosphere or when no drops are formed there is no rainbow..

he hydrogen transition lines would be missing in the visible range,  the RED region

Explanation:

The sunlight that reaches the Earth is scattered by the atmosphere and radiated, as the atmosphere has mainly nitrogen, the radiated light is blue, this light does not produce a rainbow.

The sunlight must reach a drop of water that disperses the colors according to the refractive index of the water and in this way produces a rainbow, so when there is no water in the atmosphere or when no drops are formed there is no rainbow..

If the atmosphere were composed of Hydrogen, the hydrogen transition lines would be missing in the visible range, this corresponds to the so-called Balmer series and they are in the RED light region.

Many chemical reactions release energy. Suppose that at the beginning of a reaction, an electron and proton are separated by 0.1
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

1.189eV

Explanation:

The electric potential energy is the potential energy that results from the Coulomb force and is associated with the configuration of two or more charges. For an electron in the presence of an electric field produced by a proton, the electric potential energy is defined as:

U=\frac{kq_{e}q_{p}}{r}

where  q_{e} is the electron charge, q_{p} is the proton charge, r is the separation distance between the charges and k is the coulomb constant.

Knowing this, we can calculate how much electric potential energy was lost:

\Delta U=U_{f}-U{i}\\\Delta U=\frac{kq_{e}q_{p}}{r_{f}}-\frac{kq_{e}q_{p}}{r_{i}}\\\Delta U=kq_{e}q_{p}(\frac{1}{r_{f}}-\frac{1}{r_{i}})\\\Delta U=(8.99*10^9\frac{Nm^2}{C^2})(-1.60*10^{-19}C)(1.60*10^{-19}C)(\frac{1}{0.105*10^{-9}m}-\frac{1}{0.115*10^{-9}m})\\\Delta U=1.90*10^{-19}J*\frac{6.2415*10^{18}eV}{1J}=1.189eV
