Speed=Distance/Time
So Distance=Speed X Time
Distance=55T
Where 55 is the Car's speed and it is constant(won't change) and T is the time which is the changing variable.
you can plug time values to know the distance traveled!

MakcuM [25]

Answer:

The number of bananas that Emily bought was 6 and the number of peaches that Emily bought was 8

Step-by-step explanation:

The complete question is

Emily and her children went into a grocery store and she bought $20.80 worth of bananas and peaches. Each banana costs $0.80 and each peach costs $2. She bought a total of 14 peaches and bananas altogether. Determine the number of peaches and the number of bananas that Emily bought

Let

x ----> the number of bananas that Emily bought

y ----> the number of peaches that Emily bought

we know that

She bought a total of 14 bananas and peaches altogether

so

x+y=14 -----> equation A

She bought $20.80 worth of bananas and peaches

so

0.80x+2y=20.80 -----> equation B

Solve the system by graphing

Remember that the solution is the intersection point both graphs

using a graphing tool

The solution is the point (6,8)

see the attached figure

therefore

The number of bananas that Emily bought was 6 and the number of peaches that Emily bought was 8

Xavier c. wants to purchase a machine for $37,000 with a four year life and $1,000 salvage value. Xavier requires an 8% return o
tangare [24]
(a) Net present value of machine
Pm=-C+V/(1+i)^n=37000-1000/1.08^4
=-36264.97
=-36265 (rounded to nearest dollar)

Cost of machine amortized over 4 years (annualized cost)
Ac=Pm(A/P,i,n)=-36264.97(A/P,0.08,4)=-36264.97(.08*(1.08^4)/(1.08^4-1)
=-10949.15

Expected year-end cash flow = annualized return - annualized cost =>
12000=return - 10949.15

(b) Internal rate of return of machine
=return/cost - 1
=(12000-(-10949.15)/10949.15-1
=2.096-1
=1.096
=109.6%
