The word "unsupported" implies that the argument being made lacks the necessary information to back it up. Therefore, "unsupported assertions" are claims that are made during a conversation or a debate, but which are made without enough evidence to back them up.

Making unsupported assertions during a debate can lead to trouble for the participants. When such a claim is made, it is stated as a fact. However, for the other team to accept it as such, it is necessary to show that there is enough evidence to support it. Being unable to provide this evidence not only renders the argument useless, but can damage the opinion that the audience has of the team that put forward the claim.

R-134a vapor enters into a turbine at 250 psia and 175°F. The temperature of R-134a is reduced to 20°F in this turbine while its
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

Δ enthalpy = -23 Btu/Ibm

Explanation:

Given data:

Pressure ( P1 ) = 250 psi

Initial Temperature ( T1 ) = 175°F

Final temperature ( T2 ) = 20°F

<u>Calculate the change in the enthalpy of R-134a </u>

From R-134 table

h1 = 129.85 Btu/Ibm

s1 = 0.23281 Btu/Ibm.R

note : entropy is constant

hence ; s1 = s2

by interpolation  ; h2 = 106.95

Δ enthalpy = h2 - h1

                  =  ( 106.95 - 129.85 ) = -23 Btu/Ibm

givi [52]

Explanation:

Note: Refer the diagram attached

Apply KVL around i_{z} loop

\begin{aligned}&5 k \left(i_{z}-i_{y}\right)+2 v_{\Delta}=0\\&5000\left(i_{z}-i_{y}\right)+2 v_{\Delta}=0 \quad \ldots \ldots(1)\end{aligned}

From the circuit, \(v_{\Delta}\) can be expressed using ohm's law as,\\\(v_{\Delta}=(1 k ) i_{y}\)\(v_{\Delta}=1000 i_{y}\)

Explanation:

The properties of water at 1 atm and thus at the saturation temperature of 100C are hfg =2256.4 kJ/kg (Table A-4). The net rate of heat transfer to the water is ˙Q=0 . 60×3 kW=1 . 8 kWNoting that it takes 2256.4 kJ of energy to vaporize 1 kg of saturated liquid water, therate of evaporation of water is determined to be mevaporation=˙Qhfg=1. 8 kJ /s2269. 6 kJ /kg=0 . 793×10−3kg/ s=2. 855 kg /h
