find the missing number in 3 4/5 divide [ ] = 2 5/7

Let the unknown number be x

\frac{3 \frac{4}{5}}{x}=2\frac{5}{7}

3\frac{4}{5} can be written as \frac{19}{5}

2\frac{5}{7} can be written as \frac{19}{7}

So equation becomes

\frac{\frac{19}{5}}{x}=\frac{19}{7}

We need to get x alone, so we multiply by x on both sides

\frac{19}{5}=\frac{19}{7} *x

Now to remove 9/7 we take reciprocal and multiply it on both sides

\frac{19}{5} * \frac{7}{19} =\frac{19}{7}* \frac{7}{19} *x

\frac{7}{5}=x

The missing number is \frac{7}{5}

Answer is 10 11/35

Because here you are finding an unknown, so you redo the problem.
The problem tells you to divide so the opposite is times the number
so 2 5/7 times 3 4/5 is 10 11/35

Who knows the x and y values of<br> x+5y=-12<br> 5x+4y=24
musickatia [10]
Solve for one variable x or y first. So lets solve for x. If you take the first equation x= -12 -5y. You then plug that into the second equation
5(-12-5y) +4y = 24
now you solve for y
-60 - 25y + 4y =24
-21y=84
y=-4
Now you plug in y back into either equation and you get x=8

A bag of mixed nuts has 14 almonds, 12 cashews, and 18 peanuts. If one nut is selected, what is the probability that a peanut is
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

18 / 44 = 9 / 22

There are 44 nuts in the bag, and 18 of them are peanuts. If you simplify the fraction, you get 9/22 chance of getting a peanut.
