Answer:

1.15

Explanation:

If investment is made in equal proportions, it means that;

weight in risk free ; wRF = 33.33% or 0.3333

Let the stocks be A and B

weight in stock A ; wA = 33.33% or 0.3333

weight in stock B; wB = 33.33% or 0.3333

Beta of A; bA = 1.85

Let the beta of the other stock be represented by "bB"

Beta of risk free; bRF = 0

Beta of portfolio = 1 since it is mentioned that "the total portfolio is equally as risky as the market "

The weight of portfolio is equal to the sum of the weighted average beta of the three assets. The formula is as follows;

wP = wAbA + wBbB + wRF bRF

1 = (0.3333 * 1.85) + (0.3333*bB) + (0.3333 *0)

1 = 0.6166 +0.3333bB + 0

1 - 0.6166 = 0.3333bB

0.3834 = 0.3333bB

Next, divide both sides by 0.3333 to solve for bB;

bB = 0.3834/0.3333

w=bB = 1.15

Therefore, the beta for the other stock would be 1.15

Explanation:

Basis:

 • Interest compounded monthly
 • rate = 0.021/12 = 0.00175

1. Year 1:

All the figures in dollars.

 • Initial balance: 0
 • Initial balance + interest = 0
 • Deposit at the end of the year: 23,500
 • Final balance: 23,500

2. Year 2:

All the figures in dollars.

 • Initial balance: 23,500
 • Initial balance + interest: 23,500 (1 + 0.00175)¹² = 23,998.28
 • Deposit at the end of the year: 24,500
 • Final balance: 24,500 + 23,998.28 = 48,498.28

3. Year 3:

All the figures in dollars.

 • Initial balance: 48,498.28
 • Initial balance + interest: 48,498.28(1 + 0.00175)¹² = 49,526.60
 • Deposit at the end of the year: 26,500
 • Final balance: 26,500 + 49,526.60 = 76,026.60

4. Year 4:

All the figures in dollars.

 • Initial balance: 76,026.60
 • Initial balance + interest: 76,026.60(1 + 0.00175)¹² = 77,638.62
 • Deposit at the end of the year: 28,000
 • Final balance: 28,000 + 77,638.62 = 105,638.62

Assuming differences in rounding intermediate values, the answer is the option C.

Cost of goods sold is budgeted at 40% of sales, and the inventory at the end of February was $34,000. Desired inventory levels a
maksim [4K]

Answer:

$9,920

Explanation:

The computation of the desired beginning inventory as on June 1 is shown below:

Inventory as on June 1 = Given percentage of the cost of goods sold in the month of June

= 10% × (40% × $248,000)

= 0.10 × $99,200

= $9,920

As the cost of goods sold is 40% of sales so we considered this thing and according to it we find out the beginning inventory

Popped! is a specialty popcorn store. It offers two varieties of popcorn:
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

Plain = 450 per month

Flavored = 1800 per month

Explanation:

We will calculate the breakeven in composite units first and then separate the into both products to find out individual number of both products that needs to be sold to break even.

The breakeven in units = Fixed cost / composite contribution margin

The composite contribution margin per unit = Contribution of Product 1 * weight of product 1 + Contribution of product 2 * weight of product 2

Thus, the composite contribution margin (CM) per unit for Popped is,

CM per unit-composite units = (2-0.8) * 1/5 + (4-2.5) * 4/5 = $1.44 per unit

The breakeven in units = 3240 / 1.44 = 2250 units per month

Out of this,

Plain = 2250 * 1/5 = 450 unts

Flavored = 2250 * 4/5 = 1800
