You are jumping on a trampoline and it occurs to you that energy is being transferred as you bounce. (...sounds like your usual

thoughts, doesn't it?) You realize that sometimes you do work on the trampoline and sometimes it does work on you. The time when you do work on the trampoline is(A) whenever you are touching its surface. (B) when you are touching its surface and that surface is moving downward. (C) when you are touching its surface and that surface is moving upward. (D) during the second half of the trampoline's movement downward and the first half of the trampoline's movement upward.

I believe (D) during the second half of the trampoline's movement downward and the first half of the trampoline's movement upward.

But this question is hard to answer. So it can also be C.

Explain why the moon is always half illuminated and half dark no matter where it is in the lunar cycle.
BlackZzzverrR [31]
The easiest way I know to explain it is this:

-- Take a flashlight and a ball into a dark room.

-- Turn on the flashlight and point it at the ball.

-- Half of the ball is lighted up by the flashlight, and the other half is dark.

-- There is no way you can turn or twist the ball to make more or less
than 50% of it lighted up and more or less than 50% of it dark.

Everything in the solar system ... as long as it's shaped like a ball ... is
half illuminated by the sun and half dark.

vekshin1

the average acceleration of the bullet through the board -55657×10⁵ m/s²

acceleration- Rate of change of velocity with respect to time.

S = 0.10 mm = 10⁻⁵ m  ( distance)          [∵ 1mm = 10⁻³]

u =  480 m/s (initial velocity)

v = 345 m/s (final velocity)

As we know the 3rd equation of motion.

v² = u² + 2aS

a = ? ( acceleration)

using these values in equation we get

(345)² = (480)² + 2×a× 10⁻⁵

a = (345)² -  (480)² / 2× 10⁻⁵

a =  -55657×10⁵ m/s²

The negative sign shows that the direction of acceleration is opposite of velocity thus bullet is slowing down.

the average acceleration of the bullet through the board -55657×10⁵ m/s²

The given question is incomplete. The complete question is.

a bullet fired straight through a board 0.10 mm thick strikes the board with a speed of 480 m/sm/s, has constant acceleration through the board, and emerges with a speed of 345 m/sm/s.

What is the average acceleration of the bullet through the board/?

The dimensions of aluminum foil in a box for sale in super markets are 66 2/3 yards by 12 inches. the mass of the foil is 0.83 k
disa [49]

Length of the sheet is given as

L = \frac{200}{3} yards = 6096 cm

width of the sheet is given as

w = 12 inches = 30.48 cm

now let say its thickness is "t"

so the volume of the sheet is given as

V = L*w*t

V = 6096*30.48* t

V = 185806.08*t cm^3

mass of the sheet is given as

m = 0.83 kg = 830 gram

now we have

density = \frac{mass}{volume}

2.70 = \frac{830}{185806.08*t}

by solving above we have

t = 1.65 * 10^{-3} cm

so the thickness of sheet will be above
