Answer:

The boy must swim at an angle of 59°northwest to get to a position directly opposite his starting point.

Explanation:

To get to a point directly opposite his starting point, the boy must travel at an angle x, in a direction northwest of his starting point. The speed of the boy and the speed of the river current forms a right-angled triangle with an an opposite side of 1.8 m/a and a hypotenuse of 2.1 m/a having an angle x.

Sin x = opp/ hyp

Sin x = 1.8/2.1

x = sin⁻¹ (1.8/2.10

x = 58.99

x = 59°

Therefore, the boy must swim at an angle of 59° in the northwesterly direction to get to a position directly opposite his starting point.

Are the fragments all the same size or shape
WINSTONCH [101]
Hey there! I believe this statement is False. No two fragments are exactly the same size, and all fragments vary on the density of the material, the speed at which it broke off of the material, and the amount of it that hit the ground. Because of this, some people may say "Oh, this is the same size as this," but in reality, nothing is exactly the same size. At least, on a molecular level. So the statement above is false.

Hope this helped!

Thanks!

Elan Coil [88]
The primary mechanism for converting atmospheric carbon into usable forms for life on earth is achieved by photonsynthesis. It is a process where plants convert carbon dioxide into forms that can be used by living organisms which is oxygen. Oxygen is a very essential product of photosynthesis which is being used by living organisms to survive.
