Let the number of green apples bought be x

Green apples = x

Red apples = 2x

Yellow apples = 1/3 (2x) = 2/3 x

Total = 22 apples

x + 2x + 2/3 x = 22

11/3 x = 22

11x = 66

x = 6

Green apples = x = 6

Red apples = 2x = 2(6) = 12

Yellow apples = 2/3 (2x) = 2/3 (6) = 4

Answer: Green = 6, Red = 12, Yellow = 4

for 9 its 9+7 which is 16 which is less then 18
and for 10 its 10+7 which is 17 which is less then 18
and for 11 its 11+7 is 18 which is equal to 18 so it would not apply to this equation

How many (15in by 15in by 25in) boxes will fill a container (10ft by 15ft by 50ft) box provided 135cubit ft. of space is
slega [8]

Volume of big box :

V=10\times 15\times 50\ ft^3\\\\V=7500\ ft^3

Volume of small box :

v=15\times 15\times 25\ inch^3\\\\v=5625\ inch^3

Space left in big box :

V' = V - 135

V' = 7500 - 135 ft³

V' = 7365 ft³

No of boxes that can fit :

n=\dfrac{7365\times 12^3}{5625}\\\\n=2262.528

Therefore, the number of boxes are approximately 2266.

Hence, this is the required solution.
