Alright, so $20 is accounted for, and is half of $40. With only another $20 remaining, you can simply divide it by $2.50.

20 ÷ 2.50 = 8

20 + 2.50h = 40

h = 8

Amelia will have to work 8 hours to earn enough money to buy a new sweater.

X+7y=24 and x-9y=-24 doing elimination
nirvana33 [79]
The easy thing to do is eliminate x by subtraction

   x + 7y = 24
- x - 9y = -24
-------------------
      16y = 48

now solve for y and then substitute the value into either original equation to find x

It is A) skewed left because the long tail in the box plot is on the left hand side. The mean is also on the left hand side of the peak so it is skewed left.
