The magnetic field helps us because it deflects most of the solar wind. The paticles of the solar wind would strip away the ozone layer that protects us from ultraviolet rays.

Which of these would NOT produce visible light? A) flint B) lightning C) microwave D) sun
ioda

Answer:

A microwave

Explanation

The human retina can only detect incident light that falls in waves 400 to 720 nanometers long, so we can't see microwave or ultraviolet wavelengths. This also applies to infrared lights which has wavelengths longer than visible and shorter than microwaves, thus being invisible to the human eye.

A car with a mass of 1,500 kg requires a centripetal force of 640 N to safely follow a circular curve in the road at 13.4 m/s. W
Tamiku [17]

Answer

Radius is 421 m.

Explanation

A car with a mass of 1,500 kg requires a centripetal force of 640 N to safely follow a circular curve in the road at 13.4 m/s. Therefore, for radius we use formula which is Fc = mv ^ 2 / r,

As mass = m = 1500kg,

Centripetal force = Fc = 640N,

Velocity = v = 13.4 m / s

By putting values, Fc = mv ^ 2 / r,

r = mv ^ 2 / Fc,

=> r = ( 1500kg ) . ( 13.4 m / s) ^ 2 / 640,

=> r = ( 1500kg ) . ( 179.56 ) / 640,

r = 269340 / 640,

=> r = 420.84 m.

Radius is 421 m.

A skater with an initial speed of 7.30 m/s stops propelling himself and begins to coast across the ice, eventually coming to res
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

a. a= 1.029 ms⁻²

b. S=25.89 m

Explanation:

given

initial speed is u = 7.30 m/sec

final speed is v = 0 m/sec

mu_k = 0.105

kinetic frictional force is Fk = mu_k×m×g

mu_k×m×g = m×a

m cancels

mu_k×g = a

deccelaration a = mu_k×g = 0.105×9.8 =1.029 ms⁻²

b) using v²-u² = 2aS

0²-7.3² = -2×1.029×S

53.29=2.058×S

S = 53.29/2.058

S=25.89 m

Calculate the work done (in J) by a 90.0 kg man who pushes a crate 4.25 m up along a ramp that makes an angle of 20.0° with the
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

W = 3.4x0³ J.

Explanation:

The work done by the man is given by the following equation:

W = F_{t}\cdot d     (1)

where W: is the work, Ft is the total force and d: is the displacement = 4.25 m.

We need to find first the total force Ft, which is:

Ft = Fm + W

where Fm: is the force exerted by the man = 535 N, W: is the weight = m*g*sin(θ), m: is the mass of the man, g: is the gravitational acceleration = 9.81 m/s², and θ: is the angle = 20.0°.

F_{t} = Fm + W = 500 N + 90.0 kg*9.81 m/s^{2} * sin(20.0) = 802.0 N

Hence, the work is:

W = 802.0 N \cdot 4.25 m = 3.4 \cdot 10 ^{3} J

Therefore, the work done by the man is 3.4x10³ J.

I hope it helps you!
