A loaded word is one that displays a strong emotion. Which word tries to influence the reader using emotion?

The answer is "crushing."

Here's why:

The above statement could have easily been said if the word, "crushing," was removed. But the author wanted to influence the reader into thinking that Lorton's quarterback not only defeated Jefferson High, but CRUSHED them. This might draw sympathy from the reader.

Hope this helped!

A company with that amount of revenue still saying that they hardly keep the doors open is probably because the profit is maybe negative. Profit is calculated by subtracting the total cost, that is the summation of the fixed cost and the variable cost, from the revenue. Even if the revenue is high, if the cost is also high, the profit will remain low.
