What do I do to find the surface area of a cylinder ?

Mathematics

Answer: 471.24 square cm.

Step-by-step explanation: First find the area of one circular base by using the formula \pi r^2. The radius is 5, so first square that. 5^2=25. Now multiply by pi, using 3.14 for pi.  25*3.14=78.5.

Since there are 2 circular bases, multiply the area of one base by 2. 78.5*2=157.

Now to find the surface area of the rest of it, first find the circumference of one circular base by using the formula \pi d. The diameter is the radius multiplied by 2. 5*2=10. Now multiply by pi. 10*3.14=31.4. Now multiply this by the height of the cylinder. 31.4*10=314.

Finally add up the areas of the two circular bases and the area of the rest of the cylinder. 314+157=471.

Assuming that an expanded form of pi was used by using the π button on a calculator, this answer is closest to 471.24.

What is the lateral surface area of the pyramid?
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

1,536 square centimeters

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the Lateral surface area of the pyramid =

1/2 × perimeter of the square base × slant height

Square base = 32cm

Slant height = 24cm

Perimeter of the square base = (4 × length of the square base side)

4 × 32cm = 128cm

Lateral Surface Area = 1/2 × 128cm × 24cm

= 1,536 square centimeters

Among fatal plane crashes that occurred during the past 5050 years, 699699 were due to pilot error, 8888 were due to other hum
lapo4ka [179]

Answer: Crashes due to pilot error is the most serious threat to aviation safety as it has highest relative frequency.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of crashes due to pilot error = 699

Number of crashes due to other human error = 88

Number of crashes due to mechanical problems = 156

Number of crashes due to sabotage = 164

Total number of crashes = 699+88+156+164 = 1167

So, Relative frequency distribution :

Pilot error = \dfrac{699}{1167}\times 100=59.89\%

Human error = \dfrac{88}{1167}\times 100=7.54\%

Mechanical problems = \dfrac{156}{1167}\times 100=13.36\%

Sabtoge = \dfrac{164}{1167}\times 100=14.05\%

Crashes due to pilot error is the most serious threat to aviation safety as it has highest relative frequency.

Write the equation of the line perpendicular to y = 5/3x + 1 that passes through the point (- 8, 2)
xenn [34]

Answer:

y = - \frac{3}{5} x - \frac{14}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

y = \frac{5}{3} x + 1 ← is in slope- intercept form

with slope m = \frac{5}{3}

Given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is

m_{perpendicular} = - \frac{1}{m} = - \frac{1}{\frac{5}{3} } = - \frac{3}{5} , thus

y = - \frac{3}{5} x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute (- 8, 2) into the partial equation

2 = \frac{24}{5} + c ⇒ c = 2 - \frac{24}{5} = - \frac{14}{5}

y = - \frac{3}{5} x - \frac{14}{5} ← equation of perpendicular line
