Answer:
4⁄9
Step-by-step explanation:
As discussed in one of my videos on my channel [USERNAME: MATHEMATICS WIZARD], whenever you are dividing mixed numbers or fractions, you multiply the first term by the divisor's multiplicative inverse [reciprocal]. So you will end up with [⅔]², which is 4⁄9. You understand?
I am joyous to assist you anytime.
1. In algebra, like terms are terms that have the same variables and powers.
2. What is combining like terms? We call terms "like terms" if they have the same variable part.
3. Polynomials form a system similar to the system of integers, in that polynomials are closed under the operations of addition, subtraction, and multiplication. CLOSURE: Polynomials will be closed under an operation if the operation produces another polynomial. ... Polynomials are closed under subtraction.
Hope this helps
From given picture we can see that X is mid point of line PQ
So PQ=2PX
From given picture we can see that Y is mid point of line PR
So PR=2PY
Now consider triangles PRQ and PYX
Sides PQ and PX has same ratio as of sides PR and PY (as calculated above)
angle XPY= angle QPR (common angle)
Hence triangles PRQ and PYX are similar.
We know that ratio of the sides of similar triangles is always equal so we can write:

Plug the given values QR=8 and PQ=2PX

Hence final answer is XY = 4 units.
3000 Quick answer
Let your calculator do the work. Be careful how you enter this in. (Are you supposed to estimate it? We'll get around to that.) Write it like this.
1.2 * 10^3 divided by 4 * 10^-1 Your calculator will do this nicely. The trick is the - 1. Put it in the calculator like this.
1.2
*
10
^
3
=
÷
4
*
10
^
(-1)
= The calculator should read 3000
That's one way to do it. Another way is just to do it all by hand. The numbers are easy enough
1.2 * 10^3 means shift the decimal 3 places right. 1 200 which is 1200
4 * 10^-1 can be handled 2 ways 10 to the minus 1 in the denominator becomes 10^1 in the numerator. Notice the sign change on the 10 when you shift if :it becomes plus! That's why you did it.
1200 * 10^1
12000
Now you are still left with 4 in the denominator.
12000/4 = 3000.
The first method always works. The second one gives you a better understanding of how powers work. There are other ways of doing this, but these are the two best, I think.
