Water or H₂O molecule is the most important hydrogen-bonded substance required for the existence and maintenance of the life on earth.
A water molecule consists of two hydrogen (H₂) atoms bonded to an oxygen (0₂) atom forming a bent structure. Water molecules are connected with weak hydrogen-bonded between partially negatively charged oxygen to partially positively charged hydrogen nucleus.
Water molecules can also form bond to other polar molecules and ions like in liquid water, dynamic hydrogen bond is formed between neighboring water molecules involving one hydrogen atom located between the two oxygen atoms. This bond adds cohesion property to water molecules.
