Answer : The correct option is, Na: positive; Cl: negative.

Explanation :

Ionic compound : These are the compounds where the atoms are bonded through ionic bond.

Ionic bonds are formed by the complete transfer of the electrons. The atom which looses the electron is considered as electropositive atom and the atom which gains the electron is known as electronegative atom.

The ionic bonds are formed between one metal and one non-metal.

As we know that NaCl is an ionic compound because in NaCl, the sodium cation (Na^+) is a metal and the chloride anion (Cl^-) is a non-metal that means the one electron of sodium metal completely transfer to the chlorine atom and it combines to forms ionic compound through ionic bond.

The sodium atom loose one electron and it is considered as electropositive atom and the chlorine atom gain one electron and it is considered as electronegative atom.

Hence, the correct option is, Na: positive; Cl: negative.

The answer is Na: positive; Cl: negative.

NaCl is a binary ionic compound, meaning its a compound that has an anion, which is a positive ion and a cation, which is negative ion. On the periodic table, Na is in row 1A, which all have a positive charge because there is 1 more proton than electrons and Cl is in row 7A, which all have negative charges because there is 1 more electron than protons.

Hurricanes derive their energy from: Group of answer choices the latent heat of condensation. the latent heat of fusion. the lat
klemol [59]

Hurricanes derive their energy from the Latent heat of condensation.

Hence, Option (1) is correct answer.

What is Latent Heat ?

The heat that is released or absorbed during a phase change of a substance is known as Latent heat.

What is Hurricanes ?

Hurricanes is basically a type of storm called a tropical cyclone. These are intense low pressure areas. Hurricanes derive their energy from the latent heat of CONDENSATION.

Thus from the above conclusion we can say that Hurricanes derive their energy from the Latent heat of condensation.

Hence, Option (1) is correct answer.

If the density of pure water is 0.9922 g/mL at 40 ºC, calculate its theoretical molarity at that temperature. Report to 4 sig fi
OleMash [197]
Answer is: theoretical molarity of water is 55.1222 mol/L.
d(H₂O) = 0.9922 g/mL.
M(H₂O) = 2 · Ar(H) + Ar(O) · g/mol.
M(H₂O) = 2 + 16 · g/mol = 18 g/mol.
c(H₂O) = d(H₂O) ÷ M(H₂O).
c(H₂O) = 0.9922 g/mL ÷ 18 g/mol.
c(H₂O) = 0.0551 mol/mL.
c(H₂O) = 0.0551 mol/mL · 1000 mL/L = 55.1222 mol/L.

Substances that are readily combustible or may cause fire through friction
Dvinal [7]

Answer :

Flammable substances

Explanation :

Flammable substances will catch fire and continue to burn when they contact an ignition source like a spark or a flame.

For example, methanol is a flammable liquid.

A flammable solid may also catch fire through friction. Matches are flammable solids.

Calculate the cell potential for the reaction as written at 25.00 °C 25.00 °C , given that
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

E = 2.02 V

Explanation:

In order to do this, we need to apply the Nernst equation which is:

E = E° - RT/nF lnQ

The value of RT/F can be simplified to just 0.059 because we are doing this experiment at 25 °C, and R and F are constants. so we need the value of Q which in this case is:

Q = [Mg²⁺] / [Ni²⁺]

We already have the concentrations, so, all we have left is the standard reduction potential, which are:

E° Mg = -2.38 V

E° Ni = -0.25 V

According to the overall reaction:

Mg(s) + Ni²⁺(aq) -------> Mg²⁺(aq) + Ni(s)

we can see that one element is reducting and the other is oxidizing, so we need to write the semi equation of reduction for each element:

Mg(s) ---------> Mg²⁺ + 2e⁻     E° = 2.38 V       oxidizing (Value of E° inverted)

Ni²⁺ + 2e⁻ -----------> Ni(s)      E° = -0.25 V     reducting

------------------------------------------------------------

Mg(s) + Ni²⁺(aq) -------> Mg²⁺(aq) + Ni(s)      E° = 2.13 V

We have the value of the standard potential, now we need to replace all given data into the nernst equation to solve for the cell potential:

E = 2.13 - 0.059/2 ln(0.757/0.0160)

E = 2.13 - 0.0295 ln(47.3125)

E = 2.13 - 0.11

E = 2.02 V

This is the cell potential
