A cat runs and jumps from one roof top to another which is 7.22 meters away and 5.97 meters below. Calculate the minimum horizon

Height of one roof is 5.97 m below the other roof

now its displacement in vertical direction is given as

y = v_i t + \frac{1}{2} at^2

5.97 = 0 + \frac{1}{2}\times 9.8 (t^2)

solving above for time

t = 1.10 s

now in the same time cat has to cover the distance between two buildings

so here we can say

d = v_x \times t

7.22 = v_x \times 1.10

solving above for speed

v_x = 6.54 m/s

so speed of cat is 6.54 m/s

Using the results of Question 1 that would apply if the collision were inelastic, compute (using Excel in the yellow highlighted
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

The fractional kinetic energy will be lost if the collision is inelastic. In inelastic collision, the kinetic energy is converted into other forms of energy.

The lost energy became heat and sound energy.

Explanation:

During inelastic collision, the kinetic energy of a moving object does not conserve. It changes into another form of energy such as sound energy and heat energy etc.

For example, when a moving car hit another car or wall etc, the kinetic energy is converted into sound and heat energy. This type of collision is inelastic collision.

A wave travels at a constant speed. How does the wavelength change if the frequency is reduced by a factor of 4?
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

The product of (wavelength) x (frequency) is always the same number ... the wave's speed.

So if the wavelength is somehow reduced to  1/4  its original length, the frequency is immediately multiplied by 4 .  That's the only way their product can remain the same.

What happens to density when you change temperature of an object?
solong [7]
Most of the substances have higher density in solid state. When we heated solids it change its state to liquid. After a few minutes the liquid will boil and after that it will change to gas. Gaseous state of matter has the lowest density. From this we can conclude that density decreases with increase in temperature.

Note the point: Water has higher density in 4℃, at its liquid state
