<u>ANSWER:  </u>

There are 0.5 quarts in each bowl. There are 31 fully filled bowls. And left over soup is 1 cup of soup.

<u>SOLUTION: </u>

Given, a caterer makes $15 \frac{3}{4}$ which is equal to $\frac{63}{4}$ quarts of tomato soup.

He pours 2 cups of soup into each bowl.

Now let us find how many quarts of soup are in each bowl?

We know that, 1 us liquid quart equals to 4 us cups.

Then, 1 quart = 4 cups

1 cup = \frac{1}{4} quarts

Here, in each bowl caterer pours two cups,

So, 2 cups = $2 \times \frac{1}{4}$ quarts

= \frac{1}{2} = 0.5 quarts

Hence, there are 0.5 quarts in each bowl.

Now let us find how many 2-cup bowls of soup can the caterer fill to the top?

From above part, we know that, each bowl has 0.5 quarts.

Then, total bowls with 2- cups of soup = $\frac{\text {total soup}}{\text {soup in one bowl}}$

$=\frac{\frac{63}{4}}{\frac{1}{2}}$

=\frac{63}{4} \times \frac{2}{1}$$=\frac{63}{2}$$=31.5$

Here, 0.5 means that a bowl which is not filled to the top. So there are 31 fully filled bowls.

Now, let us find how many cups of soup are left over?

From above part we saw that, there are 31 fully filled bowls but there is a bowl with 0.5 quarts and which is not fully filled.

So, it is the amount of soup which is left over. i.e. 0.5 times of a bowl.

We know that, each bowl will have two cups.

Here left over bowl has half of it filled with soup

So the left over soup is 1 cup of soup.

Find the series shown.
solmaris [256]

Answer:

C 11+13+15+17+...

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the series

\sum\limits_{n=3}^{\infty}(2n+5)

The nth term of series is a_n=2n+5

The bottom index tells you that n starts changing from 3, so

a_3=2\cdor 3+5=11\\ \\a_4=2\cdot 4+5=13\\ \\a_5=2\cdot 5+5=15\\ \\a_6=2\cdot 6+5=17\\ \\...

Thus, the sum of all terms is

11+13+15+17+...

Aloiza [94]

Answer:

a)\ \ \bar x_m-\bar x_f=67.03\\\\b)\ \ E=15.7416\\\\c)\ \ CI=[51.2884, \ 82.7716]

Step-by-step explanation:

a. -Given that:

n_m=41\ , \ \sigma_m=33, \bar x_m=135.67\\\\n_f=37. \ \ ,\sigma_f=20, \ \ \bar x_f=68.64

#The point estimator of the difference between the population mean expenditure for males and the population mean expenditure for females is calculated as:

\bar x_m-\bar x_f\\\\\therefore \bigtriangleup\bar x=135.67-68.64\\\\=67.03

Hence, the pointer is estimator 67.03

b. The standard error of the point estimator,\bar x_m-\bar x_f is calculated by the following following:

\sigma_{\bar x_m-\bar x_f}=\sqrt{\frac{\sigma_m^2}{n_m}+\frac{\sigma_f^2}{n_f}}

-And the margin of error, E at a 99% confidence can be calculated as:

E=z_{\alpha/2}\times \sigma_{\bar x_m-\bar x_f}\\\\\\=z_{0.005}\times\sqrt{\frac{\sigma_m^2}{n_m}+\frac{\sigma_f^2}{n_f}}\\\\\\=2.575\times \sqrt{\frac{33^2}{41}+\frac{20^2}{37}}\\\\\\=15.7416

Hence, the margin of error is 15.7416

c. The estimator confidence interval is calculated using the following formula:

\bar x_m-\bar x_f\ \pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\frac{\sigma_m^2}{n_m}+\frac{\sigma_f^2}{n_f}}

#We substitute to solve for the confidence interval using the standard deviation and sample size values in  a above:

CI=\bar x_m-\bar x_f\ \pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\frac{\sigma_m^2}{n_m}+\frac{\sigma_f^2}{n_f}}\\\\=(135.67-68.64)\pm 15.7416\\\\=67.03\pm 15.7416\\\\=[51.2884, \ 82.7716]

Hence, the 99% confidence interval is [51.2884,82.7716]
