Answer:

The frequency is 1.286 Hz

Explanation:

Frequency is the number of vibrations that occur in a unit of time. Its unit is s⁻¹ or hertz (Hz). That is, the frequency is a magnitude that measures the number of repetitions that an event can have per unit of time.

Wavelength is the minimum distance between two successive points on the wave that are in the same state of vibration. it is expressed in units of length (m).

The propagation speed (v) is the speed with which the wave propagates in the medium.

These three variables are related by the following equation:

v = f * λ

where the speed is v the wavelength is λ and the frequency is f.

So the frequency can be calculated by:

f=\frac{speed}{wavelenght}

In this case:

 • v= 4.5 m/s
 • λ= 3.5 m

Replacing:

f=\frac{4.5 \frac{m}{s} }{3.5 m}

Solving:

f=1.286 \frac{1}{s}

f=1.286 Hz

The frequency is 1.286 Hz

What are the two factors that affect ionic bond formation? Additionally, can you describe the trends of one of these factors in
solniwko [45]

Answer:

Ionization energy of the metal and electron affinity of the nonmetal

Explanation:

An ionic bond is formed when a metal transfers electrons to a nonmetal.

M· + A ⟶ M⁺ + ·A⁻

The two main factors affecting this process are the

 • Ionization energy of the metal
 • Electron affinity of the nonmetal

1. Ionization energy

The lower the ionization energy of the metal, the more likely it is able to donate an electron.

2. Electron affinity

The higher the electron affinity of the nonmetal, the more likely it is to accept an electron,

3. Periodic trends

(a) Ionization Energy

Ionization energy increases from bottom to top and from left to right in the Periodic Table.

Thus, the atoms with the lowest ionization energy are in the lower left corner of the Periodic Table.

(b) Electron affinity

Electron affinity increases from bottom to top and from left to right in the Periodic Table.

Thus, the atoms with the highest electron affinity are in the upper right corner of the Periodic Table.
