3. The original price of the trampoline is $72

The marked off price is 72 times 70 percent.

72 x .70 = 50.4

The sales tax is 5%

50.4 + 50.4 x 0.05

50.4 + 2.52

52.92

He paid $52.92 in total.

4. A store bought a leaf blower for $48.50 and marked it up 100%

This cost would be 48.5 x 2 which is $97

The sales tax is 6%

97 + 97 x 0.06

97 + 5.82

102.82

The total cost was $102.82

A. What is the probability that this couple spends 45 dollars or more?
guapka [62]

Using the probability table, it is found that:

  • a) There is a 0.25 = 25% probability that this couple spends 45 dollars or more.
  • b) The expected amount the couple actually has to pay is $36.85.

Item a:

To find the probabilities involving the total cost, we have to <u>add the variables X and Y</u> from the table, then:

P(X = 30) = P(X = 15|Y = 15) = 0.2

P(X = 35) = P(X = 15|Y = 20) + P(X = 20|Y = 15) = 0.15 + 0.15 = 0.3

P(X = 40) = P(X = 15|Y = 25) + P(X = 20|Y = 20) + P(X = 25|Y = 15) = 0.05 + 0.15 + 0.05 = 0.25

P(X = 45) = P(X = 20|Y = 25) + P(X = 25|Y = 20) = 0.1 + 0.1 = 0.2

P(X = 50) = P(X = 25|Y = 25) = 0.05

The probability involving <u>values of 45 or more</u> is:

P(X \geq 45) = P(X = 45) + P(X = 50) = 0.2 + 0.05 = 0.25

0.25 = 25% probability that this couple spends 45 dollars or more.

Item b:

For a <em>discrete distribution</em>, the expected value is the <u>sum of each outcome multiplied by it's respective probability</u>, hence, involving the 10% discount for prices above $45:

E(X) = 0.2(30) + 0.3(35) + 0.25(40) + 0.9[0.2(45) + 0.05(50)] = 36.85

The expected amount the couple actually has to pay is $36.85

I'm can't seem to find a common base.<br><br> I know the answer's x=4 but I thought it was x=0.

64^x = 256 * 16^x

2^6x = 2^8 * 2^4x

2^6x = 2^(4x+8)

6x = 4x +8

2x = 8

x = 4

Enter the trigonometric equation you would use to solve for x. Do not solve the equation.
pentagon [3]

Answer:

x=12\times \text{tan}(20^0)

Step-by-step explanation:

From the figure attached,

Measure of an angle = 20°

Measure of the opposite side = x

Measure of the adjacent side = 12

By applying tangent rule in the given right triangle,

tan(20°) = \frac{\text{Opposite side}}{\text{Adjacent side}}

\text{tan}(20^0)=\frac{x}{12}

x=12\times \text{tan}(20^0)

Therefore, equation to get the value of 'x' will be,

x=12\times \text{tan}(20^0)

If tan of theta =3/4 what is sec of theta
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

<u>5/4</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

  • tanθ = 3/4 = opposite/adjacent

Finding the missing side :

  • The hypotenuse must be found
  • √3² + 4²
  • √25
  • 5

Taking the sec ratio :

  • secθ = hypotenuse/opposite
  • secθ = <u>5/4</u>
