There are two triangles, a big triangle and a small triangle that is inside the big triangle. Because the base of the triangles are parallel to each other( indicated by the arrow), and the small triangle is perfectly inside the bigger triangle, the sides of the triangles are proportional.

It is know that the base of the small triangle is 3.5, and the hypotenuse of the small triangle is 7cm. it is also known that the the hypotenuse of the big triangle is (7+8)=15 and the base of the big triangle is unknown.

Since the triangles are proportional,
to find the base of the big triangle

base(big)/hypotenuse(big)=base(small)/hypotenuse(small)

Plug in the numbers

x/15=3.5/7
x/15=1/2
x=15/2
x=7.5

The length of the base of the big triangle is 7.5cm

Which sequence of similar transformations could map △ABC onto △A'B'C'?
nadya68 [22]

Answer: A sequence of similar transformations of dilation and translation could map △ABC onto △A'B'C'.

Step-by-step explanation:

Similar transformations: If one figure can be mapped onto the other figure using a dilation and a congruent rigid transformation or a rigid transformation followed by dilation then the two figures are said to be similar.

In the attachment △ABC mapped onto △A'B'C' by a sequence of dilation from origin and scalar factor k followed by translation.

Place the decimal point in the answer to make it correct. Explain your reasoning. 3.9853X8.032856 = 32013341.
horsena [70]
1. The Given problem is to find where to place the decimal point to the product shown below.
3.9853 x 8.032856, notice that the given equation are decimal numbers with both ones place value of the whole number.
Now, given the answer 32013341 without decimal point, let’s find where to put the decimal point.
=> 3.9853 x 8.032856
=> 32.013341
Thus, the decimal point is now located after the 2nd number. We now have 2 whole numbers with value of tens.
