g By what factor does your kinetic energy increase if you speed up from 10.6 to 23.6 miles per hour? Enter your answer to two si

gnificant figures. If you energy doubles, enter 2.0. If it increases by 50%, enter 1.5.

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the mass is m.

initial velocity, u = 10.6 mph

final velocity, v = 23.6 mph

initial kinetic energy, K = 0.5 mu²

K = 0.5 m x 10.6 x 10.6 = 56.18 m .... (1)

Final kinetic energy, K' = 0.5 mv²

K' = 0.5 x m x 23.6 x 23.6 = 278.48 m    ..... (2)

Percentage increase in kinetic energy is given by

\frac{K'-K}{K}\times 100 = \frac{278.48 - 56.18}{56.18}\times 100 = 395.6 %

So, it becomes four times.

If the velocity of a car is 45 km/h west how far can it travel in 0.5 hours?
marissa [1.9K]

Answer: 22.5 km

Explanation: Solution:

v=d/t

Derive to find d

d= vt

= 45 km/h x 0.5 h

= 22.5 km

Cancel hours and the remaining unit is in km.

FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

THE KINETIC ENERGY OF THE SMALLER CHILD IS LESS THAN THAT OF THE BIGGER CHILD

Explanation: Kinetic energy is the energy that is exerted on a body that is in motion, kinetic energy is affected by both the mass of the object and the velocity of the object.

Mathematically,Kinetic energy is represented as follows;

K.E=1/2MV^{2}

Where M represents the mass of the object in kilograms and V represents velocity of the moving object measured in meters per seconds.

The higher the weight of the object the higher the kinetic energy of the object which means the bigger child will have a higher kinetic energy than the smaller child.

Juliette [100K]

Out of all given choices, the following statements are true:

  • An ammeter is used to measure current.
  • A voltmeter is used to measure voltage.
  • A voltmeter must be placed in parallel with a resistor to measure the voltage across the resistor.

Options A, E, and F

Explanation:

An instrument by which the current in a circuit is measured is called ammeter whereas an instrument in which voltage is measured in a circuit is called a voltmeter . The ammeter is placed in series with the resistor while the voltmeter is placed in parallel with the resistor.

For the option B, since the ammeter must be placed in series with the resistor to measure current, it is false. Option C is false because an ammeter has zero internal resistance. Option D is also false because a voltmeter has a high internal resistance and is actually infinite.
