Answer:

x = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Looking at the attached figure:

As the triangle ABC is inscribed inside the circle and AB is the diameter of the circle => ABC is the right triangle

So that ∡ACB = 90°

As ACB is the right triangle, according to the Pythagoras theorem, we have the formula as following:

    AC^{2} +BC^{2} =AB^{2}

=> BC^{2}  = AB^{2} -AC^{2} = 20^{2} -16^{2} = 400-256= 144 = 12^{2}

=> BC = 12

As O is the center of the circle

=> OA = 1/2 x AB = 1/2 x 20 = 10

Inside the triangle ABC, as OD is parallel with BC

=> AOD and ABC are similar triangles

=> \frac{OD}{BC} =\frac{AO}{AB}

=> \frac{x}{12}=\frac{10}{20}  =\frac{1}{2}

=> x = 1/2 x 12 = 6

So x = 6

The miles-per-gallon rating of passenger cars is a normally distributed random variable with a mean of 33.8 mpg and a standard d
EleoNora [17]

Answer:

The probability that a randomly selected passenger car gets more than 37.3 mpg is 0.1587.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the random variable <em>X</em> represent the miles-per-gallon rating of passenger cars.

It is provided that X\sim N(\mu=33.8,\ \sigma^{2}=3.5^{2}).

Compute the probability that a randomly selected passenger car gets more than 37.3 mpg as follows:

P(X>37.3)=P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{37.3-33.8}{3.5})

                   =P(Z>1)\\\\=1-P(Z

Thus, the probability that a randomly selected passenger car gets more than 37.3 mpg is 0.1587.

Which angles are complementary<br> to &lt;2. Select all that apply.
KiRa [710]

Answer:

∠1 only

Step-by-step explanation:

Complementary angles:

  • sum to 90°
  • form a right angle

The only angle (that's an answer choice) that helps form a right angle with angle 2 is angle 1, thus making it the correct answer.

Have a lovely rest of your day/night, and good luck with your assignments! ♡
