How do you find the area of a circle? Isn't it π and something?

Hi there!

You are partially correct on the π symbol, but there's more!

The formula for finding the area of a circle is:

A = π r².

A stands for area, π stands for pi, and r stands for radius. The ² is there because the radius is half as big as the diameter of a circle.

Hope this helps! :D

And remember, you can message me whenever you need to on anything you may need help with!

Slice for 5x+c=k for x
Degger [83]

Answer:

A - x = (k-c)/5

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this problem, we would solve for x like we would in 2x = 6 :

5x + c = k

5x = k-c (subtract c from both sides)

x = k/5 - c/5 (divide 5 on both sides)

x = (k-c)/5 (simplify)

Zach and Ginny are building model cars. Ginny's car is 2 more than 3 times the length of Zach's car. The sum of the lengths of b
Neporo4naja [7]

Answer:

x+(3x+2)=30

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x ----> the length of Zach's car

y ----> the length of Ginny's car

we know that

The sum of the lengths of both cars is 30 inches

so

x+y=30 ----> equation A

Ginny's car is 2 more than 3 times the length of Zach's car

so

y=3x+2 ----> equation B

substitute equation B in equation A

x+(3x+2)=30

How do you solve a system of linear equations by graphing?
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

9514 1404 393

Explanation:

This is a self-answering question: you solve it by graphing the equations.

The solution is where the lines intersect. The point of intersection of the lines is the point that satisfies all the equations for the lines, hence is a solution to the system. If they do not intersect, there are no solutions. If the lines are coincident, there are an infinite number of solutions.

__

The equations can be graphed by any of a number of methods. (My favorite is to let a graphing calculator do it.) The method of choice depends on the coefficients and the form the equations are given in. Methods of graphing are a topic for a more lengthy discussion.
