Assuming the object moving on the circular path is the point on the edge of the wheel, the distance it travels in one minute is
  5*(2π*(10 in)) = 100π in

The linear speed is 100π in/min ≈ 314.16 in/min.

Solve 5-3^x=-40 round to the nearest ten-thousandth
solong [7]

5-3^x = -40

 subtract 5 from each side to get

-3^x=-45

 divide both sides by -1 to make them positive

3^x = 45

need to do the natural logarithm on both sides to remove the variable from the exponent

 so ln(3^x) = ln(45)

 use logarithm rule to move x out

x ln (3) = ln(45)

 dive each term by ln(3) then simplify to get

ln(3)/ln(45)

 so x = ln(3)/ln(45) which calculates out to 3.46497352

round off to ten thousandths is 3.4650

Write the fraction below as a sum or difference.
timofeeve [1]

Answer: C

Step-by-step explanation:

You would need to divide the 5z and 3 by 4. Putting 5z and 3 as the numerator in a fraction with 4 as the denominator is the same because you’re dividing both values by 4. I think I may have explained it badly, so if someone has a better explanation, can you add that in the comments or in an answer?

In an election, candidate A got 75% of the total valid votes. If 15% of the total votes were declared invalid and the total numb
guajiro [1.7K]
Whatever% of anything, is just (whatever/100) * anything.

there were a total of 560000 votes, now, off those some are valid and some are invalid.

we know 15% of that are invalid, that simply means that 85% are valid, since 85% + 15% is the whole thing, or 100%, if 15% are not good, the other 85% are the good ones.

how many are the valid ones anyway?  well, 85% of 560000, which is just (85/100) * 560000.

we know that off those valid ones, the candidate got 75% of those, so how much is 75% of that?

well, (75/100) * [ (85/100) * 560000 ].

If the simple interest on $8000 for 3 years is $540, what is the rate of interest per annum?
Tresset [83]

Answer:

2.25%

Step-by-step explanation:

I = Prt

Given:

I = 540

P = 8000

t = 3

Solve for r:

I = Prt

r = I/(Pt)

r = 540/(8000 * 3)

r = 540/24000

r = 0.0225

Rate in percentage form:

0.0225 * 100 = 2.25%
